The SBLF Fundraiser Gala returns with the CHiLDREN OF THE SUN: A Choreopoem by Shirley Bradley Price LeFlore features a collection of poems performed by children and young adults, accompanied by an energetic soundtrack.
Poetry exists not only in written form but also in the sounds of spoken words. This choreopoem brings Shirley’s writings to life on stage. Her poetry is drawn from an incomplete manuscript and her archives, and have been carefully curated by her daughter Lyah to create a cohesive script made up of various performance pieces. The work gains deeper significance when expressed through the voices, songs, and movements of young performers.
