WRITE ON

The WRITE ON initiative focuses on promoting self-improvement and self-awareness through the medium of creative writing, as well as introducing the benefits of literature and books to children and adolescents in marginalized communities.

Specifically targeting inner-city youth aged 5-18, the program will utilize creative writing and theatrical techniques as tools for personal transformation, facilitating self-expression and fostering positive change. By exposing participants to various writing genres such as poetry and short stories and drawing connections to the lyrical forms found in rap and hip hop, the initiative aims to cultivate leadership qualities and enhance essential communication skills necessary for academic and personal achievement. The development of a strong self-identity is emphasized as a key factor in enabling individuals to attain success.

This significant endeavor, operating under the SBLF/C.A.E.L. framework, aligns with our community-oriented vision and commitment to positively influencing the life trajectories of young individuals. Collaborative efforts will be made to establish partnerships with educational institutions and youth organizations in the St. Louis area.
